Located in the heart of Hämeenlinna, Verkatehdas Event Centre opened its doors in 2007. Our purpose is to ensure that there is a place in Hämeenlinna to organise different types of events that bring people together, whether they be meetings, concerts, hybrid or virtual events, fairs, corporate functions or even mass vaccinations against worldwide pandemics, as witnessed in 2021.

The red-bricked factory buildings of the Verkatehdas property were renovated in a way that honoured the Hämeenlinna Verkatehdas factory that had been manufacturing baize fabrics since 1895. More than half a million visitors arrive at Verkatehdas each year to enjoy various events.

Verkatehdas as employer

Verkatehdas is a warm and open work community comprised of approximately 20 event industry professionals. The work tasks at Verkatehdas are diverse: different types of roles are needed for production and technology, finance and administration as well as sales and marketing. Meet the team!

Verkatehdas is an inspiring workplace. The historic factory surroundings and breathtaking scenery of Lake Vanajavesi create a stimulating work environment that gives energy and sparks new ideas. At Verkatehdas, our personnel work in close proximity to the venues: the technical work spaces are naturally located close to the stage in Vanaja Hall and the distance to the balcony of Vanaja Hall is only a few steps from the door of the office on the third floor.

Interns

We are also happy to receive internship applications. Verkatehdas is the ideal internship for event production and technology students. The job descriptions at Verkatehdas are, however, highly diverse, so students in other areas of study may also be well-suited to the daily needs at Verkatehdas. Please note that Verkatehdas is generally closed during July, so we are not likely able to offer any long-term internship during the summer.
